James Hjuka Coulter is the author of Germanic Heathenry: A Practical Guide (2003; ISBN 1410765857), a book on Germanic neopaganism (called "Irminism" by Coulter). He is also the author of a treatise on Heathen Timekeeping and he has issued his won translation of the Havamal, a classic text of Irminism, Odinism, and Asatru.

Coulter is also the registred keeper of, the website of the Irminen-Gesellschaft, and he has edited the Zeitgeist journal (since 2003), .

Coulter emphasizes folkish (German ethnic nationalist) aspects, and Continental Germanic paganism (as opposed to Norse paganism).
