A project initiated by the Gaiapeds to ritually strengthen the ties in the Neopagan community. Ashes are collected from sacred fires and, with permission, thrown into other fires. Participants at the rituals are encouraged to collect ashes when they are cool, so that they may also bring them to future fires. Anyone carrying ashes likely has a paper or electronic record of all the fires the ashes descend from, and freely share these lists with anyone who takes ashes from the same fire. Because he was not the first to ever collect ashes from a fire, his own lineage of ashes dates back longer than he himself has been a practicing Pagan.
